It's a process! Print, dry, finish, repeat!  Making a lot of art, cards, towels and other fun things in advance of upcoming holiday markets. New Minneapolis Monoprinting Class

 

 

Excited to be more involved with the Otherworldly Art Collective and ALTR Gallery! I've just added a monoprinting class to my calendar at their venue on November 10, 2025. Artist Statements...

Artist statements are hard.  

Galleries ask for them but what is it about really?

Do you want to know me? my process? my inspiration? the goal I am hoping to reach? 

Personally I don't really like art speak nor the elite language often required to function in any professional world. I won't try to impress you with my vocabulary... shouldn't the art do the talking?

Here's the latest version of a seemingly ever evolving thing... 

I am an expressive printmaker working primarily with linocut and other relief printing methods. My subject matter reflects my passion for the natural world and is influenced by traditions and folk tales. I strive to make accessible art as an invitation to others to share the feelings, impressions and memories my work sparks in them. I take pride in printing everything by hand using methods that are easily shared with others.

And because you've gotten this far, here's an image because really... that is what i like to share the most.

 These are some of the new linocuts I've finished recently - I love this time of year! A cute little sea cryptid, an unusual vampire bat, and the moon with a skull charm dangling from it...

Fall Event Schedule 2025

 It is officially Fall and the calendar is no less busy than it has been the first three quarters of this year. I am grateful for every opportunity to share my art with the community and appreciate the wonderful feedback I've received thus far!

This upcoming schedule includes some classes in addition to exhibits and markets, so consider trying printmaking yourself, it's fun! 

Tree Magic

Looking forward to a new event this coming weekend in the lakes area of Minnesota.  I have heard talk about Crow Wing County since moving here and am finally going to explore the area and spend some time in the woods.

To celebrate I've been making tree images inspired by the MN State Tree, Red Pines.  I do love a good conifer! I'm having fun exploring the themes of the region, lakes and rivers, grass, wind, sun... and how those can be interpreted visually without being too literal. Here are some of the pieces I made yesterday that I will be taking to the show this weekend.

  

 

 

 

Summer Update: SoMi

 So many art fairs and SoMi in South Minneapolis is my next event on August 2-3!

August will also take me to the North Woods Art and Book Fair in Hackensack, MN on August 9 which I am excited to explore. 

Here are a few of my latest creations, perfect for summer... but don't worry, if you're more of a fan of the spooky side of my work, I am deep into the creative process for Fall and Hauntizaar (which will be Sept. 27 in St. Pete!) So stay tune for more on that in the near future.

Inspiration comes from many sources... missing a pet, a new plant, a surprise in the garden..

here are some of my latest things I've been working on. 

 

Sea Dragons

Lately I've been revisiting ocean inspirations and working on sea dragons and other aquatic oddities that are beautiful and fascinating...  very much enjoying the variety of finishes on these small block prints. I've also created large screen print versions which have a completely different feel to them. Will be exhibiting a selection during the spring art crawl in St. Paul and other upcoming events.

Stamp Carving and Mail Art Workshop in Minneapolis

 I used to be really active in mail art exchanges and have been wanting to get back into it.  Since all I make time for is work, I'll be hosting a stamp carving/mail art class at the fabulous OddMart in Minneapolis on April 19, 2025.

 

 

Beginners welcome -- come learn to carve stamps and make some postcards to send and swap with others in class! Supplies and tools included.  You can learn more and register on the OddMart website. If you've never been there, you're missing out!
 

More SWOON

I had a fun time making this short video for my SWOON exhibition, which is on display at the White Bear Center for the Arts thru April 30, 2025 so thought I would share it here along with a few more images of the art on display.... you can see I have had the year of the snake vibes on my mind.

 

 

 

 

      

Meet Your Maker at the Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center

 I'm honored to be one of 30 new makers invited to sell work at the Meet Minneapolis Visitor Center downtown on Nicolett Mall. A special launch event curated by Minneapolis Craft Market (the Meet Your Maker folks) will happen Thursday March 27, 2025 from 11AM-2PM. The MMVC is located at 505 Nicollet Mall, Suite 100 in Minneapolis.

I'm offering some new MN themed cards, totes and stickers at this shop with more fun things to come in the near future.
